43rd Battalion
1914 – 1918
The 43rd Battalion (Cameron Highlanders of Canada) was recruited and mobilized in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in November, 1914, and left for Britain in June, 1915. The battalion fought as part of the 9th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Canadian Division in France and Flanders until the end of the war.
The battalion was disbanded in August, 1920.
The 43rd Battalion is perpetuated by The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada.
