Notes
Gordon was the son of Alexander & Elizabeth McCarter. He enlisted with the 160th Bruce Battalion and subsequently served with the 4th Canadian Reserve, 47th Battalion and 50th Battalion in France. The Walkerton Legion list suggests that he was Battalion quartermaster sergeant for the 97th Battalion in WWII. Following the war, he worked as a harness maker in Walkerton. Later, he moved to the United States and worked for the Fisher Body Company plant at Cantire MI, U.S.A.Sources & Links
