Notes
Obituary can be found in The Walkerton Herald-Times, March 22, 1951. The birth record for Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Desmond shows his date of birth as 10 April 1884. That is the identical birthdate as Patrick Desmond 829230. This man enlisted with the 144th battalion in the west and was from Pinkerton. The obituary for Jerry Desmond (WHT 1951-03-22) says that Jerry Desmond enlisted with 144th in the west. My belief is that Patrick Desmond 829230 and Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ Desmond are the same person. His full name may have been Patrick Jeremiah or Jeremiah Patrick but I cannot prove that. Jim KellySources & Links
