1st Special Service Force: Devil’s Brigade

1939-1945

The First Special Service Force (FSSF), also known as the Devil’s Brigade, was an elite joint Canadian-U.S. force of three small regiments and a service battalion.  It trained in the United States, served in the Aleutian Islands, and fought in Italy and southern France during the Second World War.  It existed from 1942 to 1944.
