Son of Angus and Isabell (McLay) MacLean, Ripley, ON. Killed in the same aircraft (Lancaster DS709) as Elmer Proud, Eden Grove, ON. Entered the RCAF in 1941 and obtained the rank of Sergeant (Air Gunner) and was then commissioned on January 26, 1944 as a Pilot Officer.
