Notes

Maude McGlynn grew up in Culross Township, ON. She was the daughter of James and Bridget (Manley) McGlynn. Maude moved to Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. and became a nurse with the United States Army Nurse Corps. She shipped out on the Orduna on October 27, 1917, and again on the Finland on April 12, 1918. Maude died in Butte, Montana on May 12, 1919 from pulmonary tuberculosis. Her occupation was listed as Red Cross Nurse, war work. The informant listed on her death certificate was David Manley, probably a relation on her mother’s side. Next of kin were: Sylvester W. McGlynn, brother, age 31, residing at Whitehall, Montana; John McGlynn, brother, age 36, residing at Teeswater, Ontario, Canada; and Maggie (Margaret) Moody, sister, 37, residing at Detroit, Michigan.
