Notes

While serving with the Highland Light Infantry, Thomas was part of the second wave that landed at Juno Beach and was part of the operation to clear Scheldt by checking farm buildings for occupants. He went into buildings he knew were occupied and stalked the German Sentry. He captured the buildings, taking 45 prisoners. Through interrogation of these prisoners, they were able to prevent an ambush by a German relief party by taking 25 more prisoners. After these efforts, Thomas helped with the liberation of Holland. Thomas was a member of Tobermory Legion Branch 290.
