Notes

John Albert served three times in the First World War. After being discharged from the 160th Battalion on March 8, 1916 (after 3 months of service), he appears to have enlisted with the 28th Battalion in Regina, SK on December 13, 1916. He was then discharged again, but this time due to a civil conviction on December 16, 1916--only three days after enlisting. This discharge and reasoning were confirmed January 8, 1917. He was then recruited back in Toronto, ON, with the 2nd Dept Battalion on November 11, 1917.
