Also served with the 1st Battalion Canadian Engineers and the 107th Pioneer Battalion. He left Halifax with other 160th Battalion members on October 17, 1916 on board the S.S. Metagama, headed for England for training. He was promoted to Corporal on July 28, 1918. After hit by shrapnel, was invalided to Princess Elizabeth Hospital in England where he remained until September 20, 1918. Married Edith P. Etherton and had a daughter named Edith in 1924. Buried in Walkerton Cemetery, Brant Township - Plot # 1407 Row 14 Section N/E.Sources & Links
