Notes

Taken poisoner of war in the Amiens Drive (said to have killed guard with razor and escaped). There is a discrepancy between a newspaper account provided by the Wiarton Echo and the Distinguished Conduct Medal citation. The newspaper states that Buchoven charged and cleared a German machine gun nest, however the DCM citation states that Buchoven was working as a stretcher bearer (unarmed and tending to the wounded) the same time the charge took place. The Soldier also transferred to the 78th Battalion after the 160th.
