Leslie also served in WWI (but the war ended before his company was sent overseas). He was involved in an airplane accident on July 13, 1918. No injuries identified. On March 19, 1920 he received the Honorary Commission of 2nd Lieutenant. By WWII, he was too old to fly and was posted to Halifax. He was then sent to Goose Bay, Labrador, to help set up.
