Thomas was the son of James and Margaret McGeagh, and husband to Marie McGeagh. He enlisted with the 71st Battalion and served in France with the 47th Battalion (attached to the 10th Canadian Trench Mortar Battery), and No. 11 & 12 Canadian Field Ambulance.
