Notes
Edward was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Edward Potts. Born in England, the family emigrated to Canada when Ed was 15 years old, settling in the Dundalk area. Ed served in the First World War. He was wounded at Vimy Ridge, and again, later in France. He also served with Section # 1, 3rd Divisional Ammunition Column (France) from 1916-01-01 and the 45th Battery, 9th Brigade, Royal Canadian Artillery. He returned home to Dundalk after the war before moving to Walkerton. In 1922, Ed married Mary Catherine Gowanlock. He worked at the American Rattan factory, the Canada Spool & Bobbin Co. Ltd, and lastly was custodian of the Walkerton Post Office, a position he held for 33 years. Location at Walkerton Cemetery: Plot # 667 Row 16 Section S/E.Sources & Links
