Notes

Farrell first signed up with the Wireless Guard at Tobermory. On reduction of the guard, he joined the 34th, and was later given a commission in the 71st in 1915. (Walkerton Telescope, Aug. 31, 1916) He served in Canada, England and France with the 71st Battalion, 36th Battalion, 4th Battalion, 1st Trench Mortar Battery, 2nd Central Ontario Regimental Depot and Canadian Army Pay Corps.
