George was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Bentley, and brother to four sisters and two brothers. He was born at North Bruce and attended No. 4 Saugeen School before the family moved to Saskatchewan. He enlisted with the 210th battalion at Moose Jaw, and went overseas then to France where he was first man on a machine gun section. He was killed in action on September 27th, 1918.Sources & Links
