(a) He was the organizer of the Bruce Rifles, which was afterwards merged in the 32nd Bruce Battalion. (b) Received Canada General Service Medal for service during the Fenian Raids, when attack was expected at Goderich and Point Edward, June 2, 1866 to July 15, 1866.
