Frank Geddes enlisted in 5th Overseas Universities Battalion in Toronto on December 2, 1915. On April 27, 1916 he was transferred into the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) and fought with this regiment at Vimy Ridge. On October 25, 1917 the PPCLI joined the 7th Canadian Machine Gun Company. As part of this company, on 30 October, 1917, Frank engaged in the battle at Passchendaele, where he was wounded, struck by machine gun bullet which passed through his left thigh. On November 15, 1917, he was transferred to 1st Western General hospital in Liverpool, England, and later transferred to the Canadian Convalescent Hospital, Bearwood, at Wokingham Berkshire where he stayed until being discharged on March 8, 1918 to Seaford Camp.Sources & Links
