Notes

Florence attended public school in Carrick Township, Bruce County. She graduated as a Nurse from Guelph General Hospital School of Nursing in 1932. Florence was a Lieutenant Nursing Sister, Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, during the Second World War, working in surgical wards. In May 1942, Florence was posted to CFB Borden Military Hospital. In September 1943, she joined No. 9 Canadian General Hospital which established 600 beds at Horsham, England. fter her service she served in hospitals in Weston, Burwash and Toronto (Sunnybrook). She lived in Metro Toronto for 48 years and then retired to return home to Bruce County.
