Medical Corps

1914 – 1918

The Canadian Army Medical Corps played an essential part in keeping soldiers alive. It was founded in 1904 and underwent massive expansion from 1914 to 1918. Casualties among Canadian troops were so severe that more than half of all Canadian physicians went overseas to treat them.
