Culross Township, ON

This township [Culross] is bounded on the north by the township of Greenock; on the east by Carrick; on the south by Turnberry, Huron County; and on the west by Kinloss. The surface is generally undulating and the soil very fertile. The Orangeville extension of the Toronto, Grey and Bruce Railway enters it at the centre of the south line and runs north to Teeswater, its terminus. It is watered by the Teeswater, or Mud River, and many smaller streams. The township has an area of 55,997 acres, and a population of 3,011, exclusive of Teeswater. There are two post offices in the township, viz. Cheviot and Teeswater. First published in the “Bruce County Gazeteer and Business Directory for 1880-81” published by William W. Evans.
