Vesta Cemetery, Elderslie Township

Vesta Cemetery is located on lot 15, concession 1, Elderslie, on the 15 sideroad, on a plot of rising ground overlooking Beaver Creek. The land was given by Thomas Fortune. The earliest recorded burial in 1865. The last recorded burial was in 1928. Eventually, some of the tombstones were removed and taken to the cemetery in Chesley. Later, Elderslie Township had the tombstones collected in one small area, the land cleared of bushes and shrubs, and enclosed by a fence.
